Poul Kjaerholm and Modern Function

Poul Kjaerholm (pronounced ‘care holm’) began as a cabinetmaker in Denmark and evolved his skills to establish his unique style of clean lines and gentle elegance.

He was known for combining two unlikely materials in one piece and making it stunning. For instance, placing a wooden tabletop upon a steel frame base, that would result in a wonderful, though unlikely, masterpiece. He stood out among his Danish colleagues by opting to work with steel in this way, when wood was the preferred choice at the time.

Kjaerholm’s legacy lives on in both his modern functional style and also in the distinct pieces he created. Learn more about all the Kjaerholm replicas we have to offer!
