When searching for furniture that is guaranteed to last for years to come, a good place to start is at the base. The bases of our furniture makes use of #304 stainless steel instead of the more commonly used chrome plating. Chrome plating was the best option during the ages that the original models were designed, when stainless steel was not yet an option.
Today, chrome plating is still available on many furniture reproductions as it tends to be cheaper but with compromised quality with brittle properties that will inevitably scratch and chip.
The stainless steel we use on the base of our furniture ensures the lifespan of our products. The inevitable everyday bumps and scratches won’t faze the appearance of our stainless steel base, where as these will remain permanent chips and scratches on chrome plating.
Also, it is called ‘stainless’ steel for obvious reasons. Any rust that may rarely be found on the base of our furniture can easily be wiped away without altering the natural shine—this will not be the base on chrome plating.
