Closer Looks: Our Exhibition Chair

When most people hear the name Mies van der Rohe, an image of his most famous Barcelona Chair immediately comes to mind.   This iconic chair he designed in 1929 for the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, unfortunately has a beauty that supersedes its comfort for most people.

Our Barcelona Chair Reproduction is always a pleasant surprise for anyone who has found other versions to be uncomfortable, due to some slight adjustments we have made.  First, the seat slope on our version has been decreased by an inch making it more conducive to the spine thus allowing the user to lounge for hours on end without feeling the need to get up and stretch their back.  For anyone who has disliked the rock hard seat this chair has become known for, they are quick to appreciate the softer density of our version which a Dacron wrapped multi-density foam than offers an unparalleled level of comfort.

You can read all about our version in our comparison guide or visit one of our showrooms in BellinghamChicago or Dallasxb to check it out in person!
