MCF Exclusive Art Deco 'D' Chair

Art Deco is a style that rose to popularity in the 1920s and remains celebrated today.  Key design elements of this style are rounded corners, a set of three in the design, geometric forms and use of stainless steel.

We have designed our very own Modern Art Deco 'D' Chair, inspired by chairs in San Francisco Train station in the 1950s.  The stainless steel square tube frame curves around the back and supports the seat and back cushions made from high resilient multi-density foam and upholstered in our Italian top-grain, Grade A, aniline-dyed leather.

Come have a seat and check it out for yourself in our BellinghamChicago or Dallas showrooms!

Closer Looks: Saarinen's Model 71 Armchair

Eero Saarinen recognized how a chair’s comfort comes from the contours just as much as it does from the amount of cushioning.  He applied this concept to his iconic designs, such as his Model 71 Armchair, launched in 1950 as part of his classic Model 70 Series of Chairs.

Our Model 71 Armchair Reproduction comes in a wide variety of colors in both leather and fabrics.  Our version comes with three options of legs:  solid stainless steel, swivel base or solid wood legs.  Our newly released wood legs are made from North American Red Oak and are steam bent, hand routered into shape and cut to length, matching the precise details of the Knoll Model.

You can have a seat in our reproduction of this iconic chair, along with everything else we have to offer in any of three factory showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas!

Boucle or Leather Furniture? Now Your Options Are Endless

We are proud to announce we now offer our exclusive boucle fabric collection on our Le Corbusier and our Mies van der Rohe Reproductions, along with our classics leather options.  Whether you prefer leather or fabric furniture in your home, you can’t wrong with either option from Modern Classics Furniture.

Our exclusive collection of boucle-textured fabric is specifically suited for Midcentury Modern styles and with an unparalleled level of durability.  Thanks to the luxuriously soft 100% post-consumer recycled polyester we use, the issue of pesky fibrous balls of pilling is a thing of the past.... at least with our upholstered furniture.  The Greenshield™ finish we use protects against stains and UV rays, meaning we guarantee years of stylish lounging ahead of you.

If leather furniture is more your style, you have a wide variety of color choices in our classic leathers.  All our classic leathers are top-grain from Grade A hides made in Italy and imported to our factory.  Our standard leathers are semi-aniline dyed and corrected with a slight embossing.  Our premium leathers are 100% aniline-dyed and have a softer texture that retains the natural grain pattern of the hide.  Whether you decide to use one of our standard or premium leathers, the durability of both is exactly the same.

You can come check out all these options at any of showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas, or fill out our material request form and we are happy to send you a sample swatch of any color you are considering.
