Closer Looks: Saarinen's Model 72 Side Chair

In 1948, interior designers, and basically everyone else too, were in hot pursuit of Eero Saarinen’s freshly launched Model 72 Side Chair for their ongoing and future projects.  It was the chair they never knew they always wanted seeing as it brought an exquisitely modern element to any setting, whether it be at home in a cozy dining room or in the iconic General Motors Cafeteria, designed to seat more than 100 employees.

If you are in the market for this iconic chair but the high price of the signature version is out of the question, as it is for most of us, you will not find a higher quality reproduction at a fraction the price as with our Model 72 Side Chair Replica. Our version comes in a wide color variety of leather and fabric options and with a choice of legs styles: solid stainless steel, swivel base or solid wood legs.  Our newly released wood chair legs are made of North American Red Oak, steam bent to the precise details of the Knoll model, hand routered into shape and cut to length.  Offered in 4 wood finishes ranging from light to dark.

You can come see our reproduction of this iconic chair in person, along with everything else we have to offer, at any of our three factory showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas!
