Announcing Our New Executive Armless Chair!

We are thrilled to unveil our latest addition to our collection of dining and office chairs, our Executive Armless Chair!  Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s BRNO Chair he designed in 1930, by removing the arms we have minimized even further this icon of minimalist design and still maintained its subtle elegance making it perfectly suited for any dining or office setting.

Our Executive Armless Chair has a frame made only from the highest quality 12mm flat stock  #304 stainless steel with a polished finish.  With cushions made from high-resilient and high-density polyurethane foam over an internal spring suspension, you will love the overall sleek look of this new chair.

Time For Spring Cleaning

It is that time of year again: spring-cleaning!  If your spring-cleaning list includes cleaning and conditioning your leather furniture, here are a few basic leather care tips to keep in mind.

First of all, you will need to pick a good leather cleaner and conditioner.  Lexol is a personal favorite since it does a great job and does not contain harsh chemicals.

Cleaning Leather:
-Always test a small inconspicuous area before doing anything else
-Apply the leather cleaner onto a clean and wet cloth
-Rub onto the leather and work up into lather
-Wipe away the foam with a clean and damp cloth

Conditioning Leather:
-After cleaning is complete, shake and apply leather conditioner to a clean and wet cloth
-Rub a thin layer onto the leather in a circular massaging motion
-Wipe away with a clean and wet cloth

Hope this helps to make your spring-cleaning a little easier! To see and experience our leather furnishings in person you can visit any of our 3 showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas!

Closer Looks: Poul Volther’s Corona Chair

It is hard to believe Poul Volther’s famous Corona Chair, launched in 1961 in Denmark, was met with a disappointingly weak response by the Danish market.  The persistent designer decided to take a chance on the US market and thank goodness he did because it became a smashing success and has maintained its iconic status as a 20th century modern furniture design ever since.

Our Corona Chair and Ottoman Replica honor the same dimensions as Volther’s signature model, although our version makes use of higher quality materials Volther did not have available during his time.  Thanks to advances in technology since 1961, we are able to make use of these superior materials and an unparalleled comfort and durability.    This includes the stainless steel swivel base, high resilient multi-density foam and molded fiber-reinforced polymer internal shell.

You can see seat and a swivel in our version and also check out everything else we have by visiting any of our three showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas!

Closer Looks: Finn Juhl's Baker Sofa

Among his many accolades, Finn Juhl is largely recognized for introducing Danish design to the United States with his iconic designs like his Baker Sofa.  Unveiled in 1951, this famous sofa shows Juhl’s signature ‘Carrying Element’ he used on many of his pieces.  This method involves freeing the seat and back from the frame thus creating a visual lightness about the sofa and surroundings.

Our Finn Juhl Baker Sofa Reproduction honors the same dimensions of Juhl’s original design.  We can make our version all in the same color or two colors like the one pictured here.  With a traditional hardwood internal frame and high resilient multi-density foam, you will not find another reproduction of this iconic sofa that can offer the style and durability at our price.
