Closer Looks: Poul Volther’s Corona Chair

It is hard to believe Poul Volther’s famous Corona Chair, launched in 1961 Denmark, was only met with a lukewarm response by the Danish market.  Never one to be discouraged, Volther held the utmost confidence in the undeniable beauty and genius of his design and he decided to try again, launching his Corona Chair again in the United States.  Thank goodness for Volther's persistence because his design received the enthusiastic response it deserved, and has maintained its iconic status as a 20th century modern furniture design ever since.

Our Corona Chair and Ottoman Replica honors the same dimensions as Volther’s signature design, although our version makes use of higher quality materials Volther did not have available during his time.  Thanks to advances in technology since 1961, we are able to make use of these superior materials and add an unprecedented level comfort and durability.  From the stainless steel swivel base, high resilient multi-density foam and molded fiber-reinforced polymer internal shell, our version will bring comfort to any home or office for many years.

You can have a seat and a swivel in our version and also check out everything else we have by visiting any of our three showroom locations in BellinghamChicago or Dallas!
